Editorial February 2011

After a month holidaying in Indonesia we are refreshed and rearing to go.
The year has started in great fashion with our continuing corporate workshops with Bankwest IT recommencing with our 23rd two and a half day residential course. The series of workshops have reinforced our belief that the skills one learns in being able to improvise in teams are invaluable in developing life skills especially in the workforce.

We have also returned to Balga SH, after a 4 year break. We returned to deliver our curriculum council endorsed programme. This allows the year 11 and 12 students to gain points towards graduation. The demographics of the school had shifted since our last programme to be predominantly African and aboriginal kids. The students did well for the 2 days to overcome some inherent shyness around talking in public to getting on stage on the Friday evening with only one student opting out of getting on stage. The quality of the show was high and the winning 2 teams have been invited to compete in the Senior FOTS Cup interschool competition in August.

Speaking of interschool competitions, we have decided this year will be the last year we will hold the competitions because it has been very difficult to organize over the last three or four years perhaps indicting that school are too busy to organize teams especially for only 4 students. So why not look at the dates in the calendar and enter a team to have the prestige of winning the cup in its last year. Who knows we may decide to leave the trophy at your school for ever.

We still run inter house projects for individual school, so if you are interested you know where to contact us. We are pretty well booked for 2011 with trips to Adelaide, Hedland, Carnarvon, Tom Price and Bunbury. We still have some dates left so call us soon if you want us involved in your school this year

Have a great year of the rabbit.
